Common questions
What makes a surface tragus different from a regular tragus piercing?
It sits in the flat skin just in front of the tragus rather than through the cartilage nub, so it needs a flat surface bar — not a standard straight stud — to heal without being pushed out by the body.
Do surface piercings reject often?
Any surface placement carries some rejection or migration risk, and we will tell you honestly at consultation if your anatomy suits it. A properly fitted surface bar, implanted titanium and not sleeping on it are what keep it in place for the 6–12 month heal.
