Common questions
Needle or gun for a tragus piercing?
Needle, always. The tragus is thick cartilage over the ear canal — a gun would crush that tissue. A single-use sterile needle makes a clean channel that heals predictably.
Can I use earbuds with a healing tragus piercing?
Not on that side for the first couple of months. Earbuds press the jewelry into the cartilage and carry bacteria — the most common reason traguses get irritated. Over-ear headphones are fine.
How long does a tragus take to heal?
Budget 6–12 months to fully healed, though it feels fine long before that. It is normal for cartilage piercings to settle, then grumble once or twice — saline, hands off, and it calms down.
